The only reason Starfire and Robin were ever paired together in the cartoon was because in the comic books that the cartoon is based on Starfire and Nightwing end up having meaningless sex in nearly every issue. The creators wanted to give the characters as much the same personality as their comic book counterparts, but had to seriously tone down Star/Rob’s all-about-sex relationship for the kids watching the cartoon.
